Designing an Elite suitcase

Behind the Design

Elite to us means superior performance. Doing what other luggage can not. The kind of functionality that makes every part of travelling easier.

We have been making luggage since 2023 and both the NEOS and Glide ranges taught us a lot. The Glide Elite is what happens when you take all of that, a year of development, and real customer feedback, and put it into one range.

Here is the thinking behind the Glide Elite. Here is what we learned along the way.

1

Polycarbonate can be made stronger

Most high-quality hardshell cases use either aerospace-grade German polycarbonate or aluminium. We use both.

The polycarbonate gives you lightweight, flexible protection. The reinforced aluminium frame built into the shell adds strength and durability without the weight. The result is a case that feels super strong the moment you pick it up. We have found it tough to use a standard case after this one.

Front-opening is still the best way to pack

We have been doing front-opening since NEOS, our first luggage collection. We have not changed it because we still believe there is no better way to pack a case.

What we did change is the interior. New statement trimming makes the inside match the outside. A removable compression flap doubles as extra storage for smaller items.

3

Runaway luggage is a real problem

Our Hinomoto wheels are as smooth as ever. But now they come with ZeroRoll wheel brakes that lock the front wheels in place on slopes and inclines, which you run into more than you think when you travel.

Imagine lining up in a sloped aerobridge and not having to hold on to your case the entire time. A lever locks them. A button releases them. We are so proud of this one.

Everything should be shaped by real customer feedback

When we launched the original Glide, the reviews told us what to do next. People asked for a bigger logo, an underside handle, and a compression flap.

The Glide Elite has all three. Because of this, we believe this case can not get more Elite.
