Travel Luggage

Travel luggage built around how you actually pack and move. Our hardshell suitcases use German polycarbonate shells and Japanese Hinomoto wheels, with carry-on options starting at 2kg. The Glide Elite range opens from the top while laid flat, giving you one deep packing cavity instead of two shallow halves, so you need half the space to pack.

The range covers carry-on luggage from ultra-light hardshells to soft weekender bags, checked luggage in both clamshell and top-opening designs, and wheeled duffles for trips where flexibility matters more than structure. Every hardshell includes a TSA-approved lock and spinner wheels. Every soft piece is made from recycled water-repellent materials. Zoomlite is one of the few Australian brands offering both traditional and top-opening hardshell suitcases alongside soft luggage, so you pick the style that fits your trip rather than being locked into one design. Pair any piece with our travel packing cubes for a complete organisation system.

Carry-On Luggage

Built for weekend trips, business overnights, and every flight in between. Featuring Australia's lightest hardshell carry-on at 2kg.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a front-opening (top-opening) suitcase?
A suitcase where the lid lifts up when the case is laid flat, giving you a single deep packing cavity instead of two shallow halves like a clamshell. Some brands call this "top-opening", others call it "front-opening." Both describe the same design. You pack in layers from above with full visibility of contents, and the case only needs its own footprint to open, not double the space like a clamshell. The Zoomlite Glide Elite range uses this design in carry-on, medium, and large sizes.
How light is the lightest Zoomlite carry-on?
The Glide Lite weighs 2kg, making it one of the lightest hardshell wheeled carry-ons available in Australia. It holds 32 litres and fits within standard airline cabin size limits. The shell is German polycarbonate with Japanese Hinomoto wheels.
Should I choose hardshell or softshell luggage?
Hardshell gives you better impact protection and water resistance, ideal for checked baggage on flights. Softshell is lighter and more flexible, better for road trips and travel where you need external pockets or the ability to compress the bag into tight spaces. Zoomlite offers both, so you match the luggage to the trip.
What wheels do Zoomlite suitcases use?
All Zoomlite hardshell suitcases use Japanese Hinomoto spinner wheels. Hinomoto is one of the top wheel manufacturers globally, known for smooth, quiet rolling and long-term durability. The wheels spin 360 degrees for easy manoeuvring in airports and tight spaces.
Do Zoomlite suitcases come with a TSA lock?
Yes. Every Zoomlite hardshell suitcase includes a built-in TSA-approved combination lock. This allows airport security to inspect your bag without damaging the lock, and keeps your belongings secure during transit.

How to choose the right luggage for your trip

Top-opening vs traditional clamshell suitcases

Traditional clamshell suitcases split 50/50 down the middle, giving you two shallow halves to pack. You need to lay the case flat and open both sides, which takes up double the case's footprint in floor or bed space. Top-opening suitcases also lay flat, but the lid lifts off the top, giving you a single deep cavity to pack into from above. You only need the footprint of the case itself, not twice the space. Packing and repacking is faster because everything sits in one compartment rather than being divided across two halves. Pack in layers with heavier items at the bottom and packing cubes stacked for easy access, each layer visible from above as you open the lid. The Glide Elite range uses this top-opening design across [carry-on], medium, and large sizes. The standard Glide range uses the traditional clamshell layout with front access pockets on the carry-on.

Hardshell or softshell

Hardshell luggage protects contents better against impact and water. The rigid polycarbonate shell absorbs baggage handling without cracking (unlike cheaper ABS plastic, which splits under stress). The trade-off is less flexibility and no external pockets. Softshell luggage is lighter, more flexible, and easier to squeeze into car boots or overhead bins. It absorbs less impact but offers more give when you need to fit one last item. Zoomlite hardshells use German Makrolon polycarbonate. The [wheeled duffles] and weekender bags use recycled water-repellent polyester. The right choice depends on the trip: hardshell for flights where baggage handling is rough, softshell for road trips and flexible travel.
