Plastic bottles are recycled into RPET fabric by shredding the bottles then drying the pieces and putting them through an extruder, which will shape the plastic into thread. The thread is then put into pieces, the resulting material looks like wool off a sheep's back. The material is then carded and spun, just like wool, into yarn which is then turned into fabric.
